Question: Is Cozahost dialup access easy to set up?Yes - you set up a normal internet connection on your PC.
The process takes about 1 minute. with a
step-by-step illustrated guide. If you need help we are just a
phone call away.
Question: How fast is the Cozahost dialup
service?
As fast as your physical connection (phone , ISDN or ADSL line).
In the case of ADSL Telkom imposes a monthly 3Gb data transfer limit on all
South African ADSL users - after which international internet access is
slowed down to modem speeds.
Modem and ISDN speeds or downloads are not restricted, i.e. 56K and 64K
respectively.
Question: How much does it cost?
Our internet access services are priced (VAT Excluded) per monthly debit
order as follows:
- Modems : R 49.00
- ISDN : R 74.00
- ADSL (3 Gb) : R 185.00 (for more detail, please see
ADSL pages)
Question: Do you provide web hosting space and
email too?
These are optional extras if you are not an existing
web hosting client. The
principle is that you can tailor your internet access to the services and
price that suits YOU. You do not have to buy the gorilla to get the
bananas.
We do not use additional services (you might never use) to "justify"
high prices.
Question: Is my internet access limited in any
way?
No.
All ports are open and you can surf the web, download programs, play
online games, send and receive email, chat, etc, etc.
Question: What makes the Cozahost dialup service
different to that provided by other ISPs?
Not all ISPs are the same so we cannot answer that question
honestly without a specific example, but in most cases the Cozahost dialup
service is significantly faster with virtually zero downtime. The
biggest difference is of course the cost.
In essence we provide a dialup service every bit as reliable and
fast as the biggest ISP in South Africa - at a third of the price.
We won't insult your intelligence by saying it's perfect (no man made
thing is), but it is amongst the most reliable services you can buy.
Question: Why is your internet access so cheap?
"Cheap" is not exactly the term we prefer to use - because it
implies low quality. "Reasonably priced" is an more apt description.
:-)
We make a modest profit from providing internet access - we see no reason
why one has to have a business model that depends on making 300% profit from
an unsuspecting public. Of course it helps that we do not have a
huge advertising spend either (TV ads and so on) so our lower overheads
enables us to pass on savings to you.
Perhaps a case in point is that we have no ambition to become the largest
ISP in South Africa. We value long term relationships with our clients
and would rather have 1 happy and loyal client than 1000 unhappy customers
shackled to us with long term contracts.
You don't have to be the biggest to be the best.
Question: I have an contract with a large ISP.
How do I get out of it and use your service instead?
Hire a lawyer. :-)
Seriously though, many ISPs will make you sign a year or even two year
contract so that you are obliged to stay with them even if they increase
prices or give you shoddy service. They bargain on the fact that you
will "forget" about wanting to find a better ISP - like a frog being slowly
boiled to death.
Best you can do is contact us and we will diarize to contact shortly
before you become a free consumer once again so that you can consider making
use of our service.
Question: Won't you increase prices shortly
after I join?
We can not give you a clear and unequivocal "no" because we cannot see
into the future. There are external factors that may influence our costs in
future, but you are protected from unreasonable price increases as follows:
- You are not bound by any contract so you can terminate your service at
any time
- We have never increased our prices before
- We have no plans to increase prices
Question: Can I try before I buy?
Yes (for non ADSL accounts). Surprised? :-)
Complete the form below and fax us your debit order or credit card authorization form. We will then set up a
account for you to use. If you don't want to continue, just let us know within 3 days and there will be no charge. See for
yourself if our service is as good as our clients make it out to be.
Try asking another ISP for the same thing... ;-)
