Creating a FTP account on the server

The following guide provides step by step instructions for creating a FTP (File Transfer Protocol) account on the server using your Control Panel (HELM).

HOW TO: Create a FTP account
   
Step 1: Login to HELM

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Login to your Control Panel: http://<yourdomain>
(Replace <yourdomain> with your domain name)

Step 2: Go to your Domain

Click on "Domains" and then on the domain where you would like to create a new FTP account

Step 3: Click "FTP Accounts"

Click on the "FTP Accounts" icon

Step 4: Add a new FTP account

Create a new email account by clicking the "Add new" button.

Q: What program should I use to load my files to the server?
A: We recommend all our users use FileZilla, you can download a free copy here.

Q: The server rejects my User ID and Password
A: Please reset your password using the Reset FTP password guide.

Q: I cannot connect to the FTP server
A: Please make sure that the "Passive FTP setting" us NOT active.  For detailed instructions, please download your complete FTP manual.

ftp://ftp.<yourdomain> (Replace "<yourdomain>" with your domain name).
