Helm: Database Manager

You can use your HELM Database Manager to create MS Access, MySQL and/or MS SQL databases on your domain.  This tool can be very helpful when you need to enable access for a specific user or reset a database user password.

The following guide assumes that you are currently logged into HELM and viewing your Domain options.  If you are not, please follow these steps:

1 - Login to HELM: http://helm.<yourdomain>
2 - Click "Domains", click on your domain

HOW TO: Create a New Database
 
1.  Create a New Database

- Click on the Database Manager Icon
- A list of your existing databases will be displayed, click Add New

- Select the required Database Type and click Save

Note: If the option to create a specific database is not available - your package does not currently have that resource enabled.  Please refer to the guide on how to create an Extra Feature on your package for help enabling the specific database resource on your package.

2. Create a Database User and Password

The next step is to create a User ID that has access to read/modify tables and fields on your database.

- Click Add New in the Database Users window

Note: Follow the Connection information link for help connecting to your database.

3. Specify User ID and Password

- Database User Name: Specify the User ID that you would like to create on this database
- Password: ***** {the password for this specific user}
- Confirm Password: ****** {the password for this specific user}
- Click Save

You have now successfully created a database and user on your domain/website.
