File Manager

You can use your HELM File Manager to organize and modify files online.  This tool can be very helpful when you do not have direct access to FTP and you need to make a quick modification to one of your existing files.

The following guide assumes that you are currently logged into HELM and viewing your Domain options.  If you are not, please follow these steps:

1 - Login to HELM: http://helm.<yourdomain>
2 - Click "Domains", click on your domain

HOW TO: Use the File Manager
 
1.  Moving Files

- Click on the File Manager Icon, a list of your default files and folders will be displayed, as the figure below illustrates:

db:  This folder is used by HELM to store your MS Access data files.  The folder will only be used if you create an Access Database using the HELM Database Manager
logs:  Each visit to your website is logged and stored in the Logs folder.  Your statistics analyser (AWstats) uses the information to compile detailed statistics about the activity on your website.
wwwroot:  All your website files are stored in the WWWROOT folder.  Any content outsite (one derectory level up) of the WWWROOT will not be visible to your website.


- Click on the wwwroot folder for a list of your website files
- Tick the box next to one of the files that you would like to move
- Set the destination folder (where you would like to move the files)
- Click "Move selected Files and Folders"

2. Rename Files

- Click on the blue icon next to your file name ("Rename Folder/File)
- Once you entered the new name, click Save

3. Create new Files

- Click the "New File" icon
- Save File To: Where the file will be saved
- Save File As: Your new file name (include extension: e.g. .htm; .asp; etc.)
- Create the file content in the white text box
- Click "Save"

4. Modifying existing Files

- Click on one of your existing files

- Modify the file location, file name or file content
- Click "Save"
