Please follow the instructions below to setup Outlook Express to send and
receive email from your servers.
(NOTE: Where you see "mail.cozahost.com" replace that server name with
the server assigned to you - "mail.your_own_domain_name.co.za")
1. Create a new mail account
- Open Outlook Express
- Click on the Tools menu option
- Click on the Accounts menu option
- Click Add, click Mail
You have now initiated the
new account setup procedure.
2. Display Name
- Enter Your Name (as you would like it to appear) in
the Display name field
- Click the Next button
3. Email
address
- In the "E-Mail address" field, enter a valid email address
- Click the Next button
4. Email
server names
- In the "Incoming mail server" area enter
mail.your_domain_name.co.za
- In the "Outgoing mail server" area, also enter
mail.your_domain_name.co.za
- Now click the Next button
5. Mail
logon id and password
- Account name area: Ttype the User ID as supplied (Same as your full email address) - Password area: Type the Password as supplied (Make sure the "Remember password" box is ticked)
(Note that "Logon using secure password authentication" must not be
ticked)
- Click the Next
button
6. Almost
done!
Click the Finish button, but there is one more thing to do...See
next step!
7. Activate "My Server requires
Authentication"
- Select the account we just created
- Click on the Properties button
8. Server
settings
- Click on the Servers tab
- Tick (Activate) the box next to "My
server requires authentication"
NOTE: This is a very important step:
You will not be able to send email
unless you do this.
Now press the Ok button, and then press the Close button to
return to Outlook Express.
Congratulations! You configured your email account!
Test your
account
To test your new email account, send an email to test (at)
cozahost.com
('(at)' is used instead of '@' to
confuse spammer bots).
When your message is received, a reply will be sent automatically within a
few seconds.
